Kenton Holds March Officers & Trustees Meeting

MM Proficiency - Alexander Hanna - Official Pose

The Brethren of Kenton Lodge met last night for our usual Officers and Trustees meetings. However, we were also pleased to arrive early and open the Lodge to conduct a Master Mason proficiency examination. Brother Alex Hanna, who had been diligently preparing for this moment, passed with aplomb, demonstrating his commitment to the craft and his dedication to the ideals of Freemasonry. Brother Hanna had been set to give his proficiency the week previous but was stymied by an epic snow storm that descended upon the Pacific Northwest.

The Master Mason proficiency is an important milestone in any Mason’s journey. It is a time when the Brother is called upon to demonstrate his knowledge and understanding of the craft, and to reflect upon the lessons and teachings that he has learned thus far. Through this examination, the Brother is able to demonstrate his readiness to take on new responsibilities within the Lodge and to continue to grow and develop as a leader in the craft.

We are proud of Brother Hanna for his hard work and dedication, and we so enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate his success in the last of his degree proficiencies.

After the Lodge was closed and photos taken the Officers and Trustees got down to their important business. The Officers meeting saw the planning of the next month of events for the Lodge which will include the March Stated Meeting on the 9th and a Fellowcraft Degree for Brother Entered Apprentice Abraham Haskins-Murphy on the 16th. The Officers are also planning to continue the forward motion of the previous month and are anticipating continued training and study.

With Worshipful Brother Presswood out sick, Honored Brother Manase Salema again stepped into the East to skillfully open and govern the Lodge for the evening.
