Astoria Masonic Weekend plus September’s Stated Meeting
Posted on September 11, 2014
Brothers and friends,
Summer’s on its last legs. As can be expected during this time of the year, lodges are coming back from the traditional summer hiatus, preparing for the month’s regular stated meeting, and perhaps, do a degree or two.
As a lodge, we didn’t take advantage of this tradition, but I believe we made the right choice as we’ve been productive over the summer by doing degrees that produced a Master Mason and a Fellowcraft. By month’s end, we’ll be initiating another Entered Apprentice and raising our third Master Mason for the year.
We’ve also welcomed the coming of September by participating in the Astoria Masonic Weekend. Brothers from around the jurisdiction were in attendance to raise not one, but TWO candidates to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. The conferral was well attended and of course, the degree itself was exceptionally executed. Photos from our time at Astoria are available below.
We’ll continue through this month by holding our regular stated meeting tonight. I’m told that we’ll be having some sliders and salad for dinner prior to lodge opening, and of course the usual fellowship and libations after our meeting.
There will be a lot of important issues to discuss as well as petitions to be read. We also have guests in attendance, most notably Brother Brian Witt who will be visiting on behalf of the Scottish Rite. All told, it’ll be an enjoyable evening.

The photos are excellent! I can tell it was a success again this year. I applaud the efforts of Kenton in conferring and executing a fine event.
I look forward to the third annual in 2015!

WB Pierce,
Thank you for the compliments. A quick correction: The degree was through the combined efforts of several lodges, with Kenton No. 145 being one of them.
