June’s Comings and Goings
Posted on June 18, 2014
Brethren and Friends,
Last June 5th, Brothers Todd Dow, Michael Shebora and I attended our annual Grand Lodge Communication in Salem. It’s something that I’ve always looked forward to attending, and this year was certainly no different especially with the new voting technology that was used during the sessions. While the election of the Grand Lodge officers was still done the old-fashioned way, the impact in terms of streamlined voting and reporting made things easier and saved a lot of time.
A few resolutions passed; others failed. For more information about this year’s resolutions, visit the Grand Lodge website.
And true to Kenton tradition, we once again held a scotch and cigars gathering that was well attended by brethren from different parts of the jurisdiction.
Unfortunately, I didn’t take a lot of photos during this year’s annual communication. However, I did take a few that may be of interest to the brethren, including the chest that carried the charter for Multnomah No. 1 from Missouri to Oregon.
We also held our monthly Stated Meeting last week. Again, kudos to our wardens and brothers who assisted in creating a great dinner. Several interested individuals were also in attendance with one petition being read and another one waiting for July’s stated meeting. Needless to say, we’ll be having a very busy summer if all goes according to plan.
BEA Roy Ball also did well in delivering his proficiency for the Entered Apprentice Degree. We’ve now scheduled his Fellowcraft degree for Thursday, June 19th. Consider this your invitation in welcoming another brother to more light.
