Kenton Hosts District Deputy, Holds Elections During its November Stated Meeting
Posted on November 15, 2022
Spirits were high and there was a tinge of lighthearted joy in the air as the members of Kenton no. 145 held its stated meeting for the month of November. As expected, the meeting was going to be a busy one with numerous important items on the agenda, kicked off by the official reception of RWB Adam Bayer, District Deputy of the Grand Master of Masons in Oregon for District No. 3.
Before the meeting however, the brethren and guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner consisting of Haitian cuisine courtesy of Brother Valan Primus. The dinner marked the first time Haitian cuisine was served in the lodge, at least in recent memory.
The lodge also warmly received the following visiting brothers:
- WB Justin Davis, PM – Past Master of Livingston Lodge #32 in Livingston Montana (Grand Lodge of Montana member #66)
- Brother Isaiah Akins – Member of Naval Lodge no. 4 in Washington, DC.
Among the highlights of the evening was the presentation of this year’s Hiram Award to Brother Michael Milford, Junior Steward of the lodge, for his myriad efforts in maintaining and continuing the traditions and culture of the lodge for the year.
The brethren then voted on a resolution to consolidate with Sunnyside Lodge no. 163, which passed unanimously. This vote was perhaps one of the most anticipated items on the agenda for the evening. The lodge will now wait for Sunnyside Lodge to vote on their resolution on Saturday.
As expected, the lodge also voted on a new set of officers and trustees for 2023. The following brothers were elected in full Kenton fashion:
- WM: Blake Presswood
- SW: Manase Salema
- JW: Valan Primus
- TR: Michael Lell
- SC: Ian Cawley
- 4-Year Trustee: Joseph Piazza
- 1-Year Trustee: Michael Milford
RWB Adam Bayer then provided his remarks which was enthusiastically received by the brethren present.
During the festivities after the meeting, the brothers also presented RWB Bayer with a gift to commemorate his final official visit for the year.
The lodge now looks forward to hosting its own Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day as well as its installation of officers in December.
