Kenton Participates in Neighborhood Halloween Revelrie; Starts November with Visits
Posted on November 5, 2022
The last two weeks have been quite a busy time for the members of Kenton Lodge no. 145. The lodge ended October on a high note by participating in the Kenton Neighborhood “Trick or Treat on Denver Street” where hundreds of families with children garbed in their Halloween costumes trotted along Kenton’s main thoroughfare to visit participating establishments for candies and treats. Several brothers assisted in giving out bags of candies. In keeping with the theme of the evening, the brothers were then treated to a presentation by honored Brother Josh Wiedeman, Chaplain of the lodge, on unexplained phenomena and UFOs around the world.
The lodge then started the month of November with a visitation to Eastgate Lodge no. 155 on Tuesday to participate and assist with their Entered Apprentice Degree. WB Dale Palileo, secretary of Kenton, conferred the degree and delivered the lecture, with WB Jim Emery serving as Junior Deacon. Brothers Zack Andrew and Michael Milford served as Senior Warden and Senior Deacon respectively, with Brother Manase Salema graciously receiving a traveling gavel from the lodge.
The following evening, several Kenton brothers made a visit to Friendship Masonic Lodge no. 160 to witness the official visit of the Grand Master of Masons in Oregon, MWB Mark L. Posler. During the meeting, brother Zack Keirsey received a commendation from the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Oregon for saving the life of a Tigard High School student in his capacity as a School Resource Officer a few months ago.
