Following the successful raising of Brother Don Morrison last month, the brothers of Kenton Lodge no. 145 performed another courtesy degree for Newport Lodge no. 85 last night, this time for Brother Scott Millman.

The brethren in attendance saw new faces performing different parts during the evening. Most notable of all was honored Brother Ian Cawley, Senior Warden of the lodge, performing conferral duties in the east due to WB Joseph Piazza’s absence. Honored Brother Cawley’s performance marks the first time he’s conferred a Master Mason Degree, and it certainly won’t be the last as he is expected to assume the Oriental Chair in a few months’ time.

Honored Brothers Ryan Whittenburg and Matt Richardson assumed the Senior Warden and Senior Deacon chairs respectively during the opening. WB Dale Palileo assumed piano duties during the first section of the degree.

Also of equal note was Brother Kaid Collins assuming the Third Ruffian responsibilities during the second section of the degree.

And as a nod to Newport Lodge, WB Mark Philllips, current Master of the lodge, gave the grand lodge instructions.

The evening was capped with a hearty meal courtesy of honored Brother Valan Primus and his culinary team.
