Kenton Visits Beaverton no. 100
Posted on April 28, 2018
Last Thursday, April 26th, the Kenton brothers decided to visit Beaverton Lodge no. 100 and witness their Entered Apprentice Degree for Mr. Anthony Hicks.
The contingent of twelve brothers was headed by honored Brother Joey Piazza, Senior Warden of the lodge. Kenton’s newest Entered Apprentice brothers were also in attendance to witness a good example of an Entered Apprentice Degree conferred by RWB Tom Binkerd, Past Master of Beaverton no. 100 and current District Deputy of the Grand Master for District no. 4.
The brothers of Kenton also had a chance to participate in the degree. WB Dale Palileo, Past Master of Kenton in 2014 and the lodge’s current secretary, delivered the lecture while honored Brother Joe Andres, Kenton’s Senior Steward, delivered a stellar rendition of the charge after volunteering to do so at the last minute. Honored Brother Blake Presswood, the lodge’s current Marshal, assisted Beaverton’s Senior Deacon by introducing Kenton’s contingent of visitors to the brethren in attendance.
Honored Brother Joey Piazza extended fraternal greetings on behalf of WB Sami Aldrete and invited the brethren of Beaverton to Kenton’s stated meeting. He also requested a gavel to commemorate Kenton’s visit, which RWB Binkerd graciously presented west of the altar.
To make the event for Beaverton’s new Entered Apprentice even more memorable, the lodge presented him with a copy of Millennial Apprentices by Brother Sam Friedman.
The lodge is now looking forward to next week as they hold their usual officers and trustees meetings in preparation for RWB Tom Binkerd’s official visit during its May stated meeting.
