The Kenton Horde Visits Beaverton Lodge no. 100
Posted on April 10, 2022
Kenton’s traveling crew, also known as the Kenton Horde, made its first visit to a lodge in over two years last Thursday when it made an appearance at Beaverton Lodge no. 100’s April stated meeting.
The attending brethren were treated to a sumptuous meal before witnessing the gavel fall promptly at 7:00 PM with fellow Kenton member WB Hunter Bronson at the helm.
While the actual business of the lodge’s stated meeting was short, the meeting still took its regular time as the brethren were treated to a presentation by RWB Gene Hill, past Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of New Jersey on the history of his mother lodge, Alpha Lodge no. 116 F. & A. M.
And as is customary in such special events, WB Hunter Bronson presented WB James “Ironblood” Elam with the lodge’s traveling gavel. However, given the size of the gavel, WB Bronson presented WB Elam with a smaller representation of his lodge’s traveling gavel for easier transport.
Immediately after the meeting, the Kenton Horde then retired to The Chamber at 9900, a popular spot among Kenton’s members for cigars, libations and food.
The brothers of Beaverton no. 100 is expected to attend Kenton’s own stated meeting scheduled for this week Thursday to reclaim their traveling gavel.
