Despite missing a few key members due to the Flu, Kenton still successfully conferred the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on Brother John Giler.

The degree was made special by the attendance of Brother Giler’s lifelong friend WB Phillip Brown, past master of Nichols-W. Asheville Lodge #650 A.F. & A.M of North Carolina, who made his way to Portland just to attend Brother Giler’s raising.

Another rarity in Kenton’s usual degrees was WB Dale Palileo assuming the responsibilities of the East for the first and second sections as well as delivering the lecture.

Brother Giler’s raising marks the sixth Master Mason degree performed by the lodge for the year. Among this year’s raisings were for Brothers Justin Brandt, Valan Primus, Larry Linstrom, Manase Salema and Joshua Rosser.
