With the number of Entered Apprentice and Fellowcraft degrees that the lodge has conferred this year, it was only a matter of time until a Master Mason degree conferral was going to happen.

That time was last night, when the brethren of the lodge raised brother Kaid Collins to the sublime degree of Master Mason.

The evening’s ceremonies were attended by Brothers Peter Grover of Esoterika Lodge no. 227 and Mitch Pennell of Willamette Lodge no. 2.

And while the degree cast only consisted of the bare-bones members of the lodge, the quality of the degree can only be described as, in Brother Pennell’s words, “spectacular”.

The degree was helmed by Worshipful Brother Joseph Piazza, with honored Brothers Ian Cawley and James “Ironblood” Elam in the west and south stations, respectively. Honored Brother Ryan Whittenburg performed the conducting duties and presented a “master class” in Senior Deacon work in the first section.

Other highlights of the evening included the participation of Brothers John Giler and Manase Salema in their new roles covering for a few officers who were unfortunately not in attendance due to personal reasons. With the quality of their work during the conferral, expect more participation from these brothers in the future.
