Kenton Lodge continued its tradition of gathering on St. John’s Day to celebrate the close bonds that have formed among Brothers as each year comes and goes.
The evening began, in true Kenton form, with Masonic work:
Brother Master Masons Matt Thomas and Derek Shaw presented themselves ready for their proficiencies. They were each brought before the Lodge and examined; after which, the Worshipful Master declared them both proficient.
Worshipful Brother Presswood then proceeded to install some of his officers that were not able to be present earlier in the month:
- Marshal: Joshua Wiedeman
- Junior Steward: Derek Shaw
- Tyler: Joseph Piazza
- Organist: Dale Palileo
With the work of the evening completed, the Brethren wasted no time in getting on with the festivities.
Perhaps most importantly, those present joined together in sending off a Brother who is moving away at the start of the new year. WB Joseph Piazza has been a driving force behind a lot of Kenton’s successes since he joined its officer corps in 2016. In 2019 he became the Lodge’s youngest Master, and since then he has been an active presence. WB Piazza is loved among his Brethren and we are sad that we won’t see him as often as we have grown accustomed to. But that sadness is minuscule compared to our joy in celebrating the coming adventures that his life will bring him.
