Last night, Kenton kicked off its degree season on a high note by raising Brother Luis Gutierrez to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason.

True to Kenton fashion, the degree was done by a cast composed of only Kenton members, with a few brothers from various lodges in attendance. WB Dale Palileo, Grand Lecturer of the Grand Lodge of Oregon, sat in the Oriental Chair for the first and second section. He also gave the lecture for the degree while WB Jim Emery gave the charge. To round out the evening, WB Valan Primus gave the Grand Lodge charges, with WB Emery giving the ballot box charge.

A native of Mexico City, Brother Gutierrez was initiated in November 2023 and was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft in June 2024.

The lodge has been looking forward to Brother Gutierrez’ degree since WB Valan Primus assumed the helm at the start of the year. It now prepares to hold its “Fellowcraft Month” by performing two Fellowcraft Degrees in the month of February.
