One Step from Darkness: Two Gentlemen Receive Petitions at Kenton

IF - Ramirez Johnson

Last night, the members of Kenton Lodge hosted their first investigation forum of the year for two gentlemen seeking admission as members of the lodge. This unique concept—holding an official final interview for the purpose of deciding whether a person should receive a petition or otherwise—was held for Mr. Raul Ramirez and Mr. Kevin Johnson.

After their individual forum sessions, both men received their respective petitions, traditionally given in a small ceremony by the sitting Worshipful Master surrounded by attending members.

Mr. Ramirez was introduced to the lodge in December and comes highly recommended by WB Valan Primus due to their personal history growing up in New York.

Mr. Johnson started visiting the lodge in January. He was inspired to seek membership at Kenton after seeing WB Primus being featured on the cover of January’s Oregon Masonic News.

Both gentlemen are now expected to submit their petitions for reading at the lodge’s April stated meeting, which will feature an official visit of the Grand Master of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons in Oregon, MWB Tim Best .
