Hot off the heels of what can be considered as a very busy summer season, Kenton Lodge held its September stated meeting last Thursday, September 11th, 2025. While the September stated meeting marked the lodge’s return to its usual business, this stated meeting was made special by the official visit of MWB Marc Strong, Grand Master of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Oregon and his entourage of Grand Lodge officers and District Deputies.

The brethren and visitors were treated to a sumptuous feast featuring barbecue ribs, chicken and southern-style cuisine catered by the lodge specifically for this occasion.

Immediately after the lodge opened on the Master Mason Degree, the lodge then formally received MWB Strong and his entourage. Accompanying him during his visit were the following Grand Lodge officers and District Deputies:

  • RWB Greg Hinkelman, Senior Grand Warden
  • RWB Eric Young, Junior Grand Warden
  • RWB Gary Ball, Grand Treasurer
  • WB Dale Palileo, Grand Lecturer
  • WB Mark Reed, Senior Grand Deacon
  • WB Eric Headley, Grand Marshal
  • RWB Zack Keirsey, District Deputy of District no. 3
  • RWB Richard Gunn, District Deputy of District no. 7
  • RWB Daniel de la Rosa, District Deputy of District no. 10

WB Andrew Gross served as the Grand Master’s escort for the official reception.

After all visiting brethren were introduced, WB Valan Primus invited WB Mike Wall, sitting Worshipful Master of Eastgate Lodge no. 155 to a seat in the East.

The lodge then proceeded to observe a moment of silence in observance of 9/11 and continued the business of the lodge on the Entered Apprentice Degree to allow Entered Apprentices and Fellowcrafts to be part of the meeting.

MWB Strong spoke about his theme for the year and eloquently tied it to Kenton’s culture of providing a strong and fulfilling Masonic experience.

After the meeting, the lodge presented MWB Strong with a token of their love, respect and esteem: A high-end zero-gravity putter.

The lodge then continued its usual post-meeting celebrations and conviviality that lasted through the early hours of the morning.
