Last night, the brethren of Kenton performed its first degree conferral of the year by initiating Mr. James Montgomery as an Entered Apprentice Mason.
The Degree team was composed of seasoned ritualist veterans such as WB Valan Primus, RWB Zack Andrew and WB Dale Palileo, and new officers performing their roles for the first time particularly the Senior Deacon and the Stewards.
A highlight of the evening was the presence of RWB Eric Young, Junior Grand Warden of the Grand Lodge of Oregon with a newly initiated Entered Apprentice Mason from his home lodge, Gresham Lodge no. 152.
Another highlight was WB Joey Piazza, Worshipful Master of the lodge in 2019 delivering his award-winning rendition of the Apron Lecture. Despite being absent from Oregon Masonic ritual for the past few years, his performance was a moving testament to the power of the Masonic experience and its ability to render unto every candidate the importance of the Masonic apron.
The evening’s lecture was delivered by honored Brother Derek Shaw, the current Senior Deacon of the lodge. Rounding out the evening was the charge which was delivered by WB Dale Palileo.
The brethren now look forward to another Entered Apprentice Degree next week with Mr. Scott Frank as the lodge’s candidate.
